Wireless mouse problems
How
to go back a slide using a wireless mouse and Microsoft Powerpoint®
Most presenters find
it necessary to go backward a slide or two during their presentations.
When using a wireless mouse and Microsoft PowerPoint versions
previous to Windows 95 Version 7.0, it was as easy as clicking
the alternate, or right mouse button. However, in PowerPoint 7.0
and later, this feature seems to missing. The key is that it only
appears to be missing. In the newer versions of PowerPoint,
the default setting for the right mouse button is to display a
pop-up menu. The good news is, this feature can easily
be disabled and the right mouse button can again be used to go
backward a slide in your presentations. To accomplish this in
PowerPoint 7.0 or PowerPoint 97 run the program and follow these
simple steps:
1. Select Tools
from the Main Menu
2. Select Options under the Tools menu
3. Click on the View tab
4. Locate the Slide Show section
5. De-select (un-check) Popup Menu on Right Mouse Click
That's all there is
to it. From now on your right mouse button will back up the presentation
one slide per click. If you're concerned about losing the features
on the pop-up menu, don't! By moving the mouse pointer a button
will appear in the lower left corner of the screen that you can
click on to access the pop-up menu. By the way, that feature can
also be disabled in the same area of the Tools menu.
